Booker T & The M.G.'s - McLemore Ave (Stax 1970)

EDIT: i just realized that someone else put this album on their blogspot last month. my bad, i didnt know that. anyway, this is a high quality 320 kbps rip so you might wanna take it anyway.

the beatles' abbey road + booker t's organ + stax = mclemore ave. there are a few moments where this record tops abbey road, imo.

ill take this moment to give a short synopsis of where i see this blog going in the future. i havent put too much thought into it, but id like to see another blog that looks like throwback 2.1 when it died, except for a few changes. the basic idea is that everyone in the community is expected to contribute in order to download. i think that this is the best route to take because i know that many people (myself included) are reluctant to make all their best records available to the general public, but would like to share them with grateful, like-minded collectors. if theres an incentive that is more powerful than appreciation from comments (ie: others will post albums that you might like) then more people will be willing to open up their collections.

id like to have all the download links only available through a google groups page that only members have access to, while keeping the blog public so that other people can see whats going on here in case theyre interested in joining. all members would have the ability to make posts to the blog so that they can write whatever theyd like, whenever theyd like. i think the google groups would be helpful because ive been wanting to have a place where all users can post their "wanted albums" list and have requests filled by other users in the community.

for the time being, im going to keep it public so that we can attract some more readers. let me know what you think, and any ideas that you might have. peace out

Thanks a lot for letting this "layman" the chance to hear this masterwork. I don't have the kind of scratch required to purchase exceptionally coveted or rare records that opens the doors to the exclusive world of die-hard audiophiles/cratefiends.

So i'm sorry I don't have anything in return for your kindness but I really appreciate you sharing these albums on your blog.

cheers
